THE BEGINNINGS OF KAWAII

No, no, you have no idea. It actually IS the beginning of the whole so-called “kawaii culture”. And it started because girls started using mechanical pencils, which provided fine handwriting. Banished: quentyl: lb-lee: avatarsymbolism: Zuko and Mai v Mr. Boomerang. One of the reasons Avatar is one of the few epic fantasies I’ve actually liked is that nobody is above indignity. This is a thing a lot of genres do, but epic fantasies seem to be impressively devoid of any sense of humor, and often cave to the temptation to make the villains or heroes so badass that nothing embarrassing or stupid ever happens to them. In Avatar (the last airbender, anyway, haven’t seen Korra), everyone has stupid shit happen to them.  Even Fire Lord Ozai has his moments– “No, Fire Lord Ozai, YOU aren’t wearing pants!” Azula gets covered in mud.  Zuko has… well, getting conked in the head by a boomerang is only the beginning of the stupid undignified shit he experiences. (Though he still doesn’t compare to Sokka, the emperor unto perpetuity of Shameland.) And I love that.  Because in life, sometimes you get covered in mud.  Sometimes you get conked in the head when you’re trying to be brooding and dramatic.  STUPID SHIT HAPPENS TO YOU.  And in real life, you still manage to be badass, or terrible, even in your moments of human frailty. I wish I saw that more often. Yes! This, so much. That’s definitively something I’ve noticed too, and I love it! Actually, in a way, I think it’s kind of addressed in the show itself: Zuko was publicly humiliated, punished and banished for speaking out of turn at a meeting. This was considered a personal offense to the Fire Lord: they were so strict and enamored with their “dignity” that the slightest misstep by a child could turn into some sort of great insult. And if you’re insulted the proper response is to defend your honor in Agni Kai, a duel to the death (with a child if need be). In contrast, among the Air Nomads, it was okay to throw mud pies at the head monks and laugh your ass off. It was even encouraged: creativity, fun and humility were seen as the most essential qualities. No one was above pranks - neither being pranked nor even doing the pranks. And it didn’t mean they didn’t know respect - we know Aang had enormous respect for his elders and their teachings. It’s actually a much truer form of respect than what you could find in the Fire Nation, where fear kept you silent. So, I think there is a lesson here, that maybe we should learn not to hold our dignity in such high regard, that it’s good to know how to laugh at yourself? And when ATLA has fun with its serious characters, it’s also a way to illustrate this idea - the show is all the richer by not taking itself too seriously.

"If you drive around town with a Confederate flag, yelling the N-word, you know how it's going to be interpreted," Judge William McClain said. "It's inexplicable to me that you weren't arrested by the police that day. jasoncanty01: daisura: worth noting: - It was a pack of 15 people driving cars/trucks decked out in confederate flags, banners, and US flags. All 15 are being brought to justice, and this is just the latest news on the whole debaucle.- They did this in a predominately black neighborhood. - The caravan passed a public park, and these two schmucks decided to take a detour over to a group of people having an outing there.- These people were a black family having a birthday party for their kids- The witness concensus of what they did when harassing the party was “yelling racial slurs and displaying a crowbar, a knife and either a rifle or a shotgun". - Threatening the lives of children likely earned some brownie points with the judge and lengthened their sentences.- Georgia has some strict laws regarding gang activity, which applied to a large group of armed individuals actively setting out to harass a community with very openly racist motivation.- On top of the sentence, these two are also banished from the county this incident occurred in. This means they’ll also have to sell or give up property they own.- I’m seeing a lot of people try to argue this is unjust because they have the right to ‘freedom of speech’, but I hope that’s just because these people defending it haven’t read any of the details, just these shitty “confederate flag incident” titles that don’t exactly explain someone leaned out of a truck with a large weapon and shouted terrifying things at children. This is not freedom of speech, it is domestic terrorism, and was labeled as such by the police. Inciting Terror, real terror, aiming weapons at people, driving threateningly, that is not your right to freely speak your mind.

Banished: Because she competes with no one, no one can compete with her. You love it when without a pen I write like this, words flow like rivers grow when glaciers cease to exist. Let's go all the way back to the source, which starts with stars & her eggs of course. Many men are confused & feel inferior, Infinitely shallow so stunned by exterior, Don't care for her mind but stuck on the rear of her, Try to get deep in her but never show depth near to her, It's plain you never spoke to her brain, trying to tame her body using shame left you insane. He called her slut, Whore & sket, yet she was openly poetry, she was growing & yet he was still alphabet. She wanted to lead you to a higher level, but you weren't ready for God so you became a devil, you tried to make her your wife just to devalue her life & when she ascended from hell you called her a rebel. This is the story of many beautiful Queens, broken Kings cheat, wedding rings keep incomplete dysfunctional dreams. His mistake was never listening, he saw her aura glistening, thought of marriage & him christening their newborn from her womb within, but she wanted more than his next of kin. She wanted to change this system of sexism, he wanted sex & of her less questioning. She wanted a change to female oppression, he wanted brains without fail & less of her questions. She wanted to be heard & seen as the goddess she is. He wanted her to be seen, not heard so he always dismissed, All of her suffering, even when she called him King, for years he couldn't hear her tears so she told him this... It is from me where all life is produced, I am reality without eye you will lose, all clarity, your vanity can't banish me, your insecurities won't vanish me, so you choose... Will you treat me with respect, love & intellect, or will you break your soul & neck trying to negate truth without regret. At some point honesty will interject, you will see women were correct balancing, these holistic cheques won't bounce or try to collect fallacy, I was before, I am now & I am what is next. With this his ego began to crumble, his words began to stumble, & he started to mumble. You have spoken honestly, I needed this humility, you are everything & more, the way of reciprocity. chakabars
