Beautiful, Birthday, and Crazy: thejoanglebook: gerrycoco: Joan Appreciation Day song聽聽Here is my humble contribution to Joan Appreciation Day. 聽@thejoanglebook this one鈥檚 for you聽***Personal note***聽I struggle to see projects through in life, for many different reasons that aren鈥檛 worth going into at the moment. All I can say is that I鈥檓 inspired every day by people like Joan who put their heart and soul into what they do. Joan you are a comedy genius, a musical mastermind and all around crazy talented human being. You are the reason I pushed myself to make this video. This past weekend I learned that Joan Appreciation Day was on September 3rd and so wished to contribute something but didn鈥檛 know what. At one point I had a spark of inspiration and actually decided to follow it and do something with it for once. If anyone could appreciate a good pun it鈥檚 definitely you. And you more than deserve all the praise that we can give. So I took my courage and attempted to put it to good use, and I鈥檓 rather proud of the result. So thank you for not only inspiring me, but also for being a catalyst to put myself out there and giving something new a try. Hello @gerrycoco and hello everyone else. Sorry, I鈥檝e been pretty quiet today/yesterday, but you should understand that I鈥檓 the type of person whose reaction to a performance of happy birthday dedicated to me is an internal: 鈥渄o I deserve this? Don鈥檛 make eye contact. This will be over soon.鈥 I can be pretty emotionally unavailable, and I feel like I should be absolutely floored by the incredible honor of having so many people celebrate me, but instead of feeling thankful, I feel like I owe something back. I鈥檓 like 鈥渙h God, they鈥檙e all being so kind. How do I show my appreciation for them?鈥 Especially because on some level, I feel like reblogging all of your wonderful works of art could be vanity. I鈥檓 terrified of vanity. I don鈥檛 want to lose touch, and start to think more of myself then I deserve to. I want to keep growing, and I want to put others first. If I accept this gesture, does that mean I agree that I deserve it, or that I鈥檓 done growing? I don鈥檛 think I鈥檓 a genius at all (and I鈥檇 rather you not rebut that, because I鈥檓 really not trying to fish for compliments here). That said, the one thing I鈥檓 the most happy about having accomplished, is having worked on, written for, contributed to, or created projects that have inspired other artists. Some of you may know that I鈥檓 very pro-fan fiction. If I don鈥檛 accomplish anything else, I love that someone could鈥檝e felt motivated to make something beautiful after seeing me attempt to make something beautiful myself. It really does warm my heart. That鈥檚 why I鈥檓 reblogging this, because I love that you felt the neccessary courage to put yourself out there, @gerrycoco鈥 I鈥檓 really, really glad that you did. It鈥檚 a lovely song. And believe me, I really struggle to see things through myself鈥 that鈥檚 why I only collaborate with people, because sometimes I think that that might be the only way that I can finish anything.I think I鈥檓 going to continue reblogging art for the occasion (a little belated, I know). Breach of terms of service: culturehustle.comIllegal acquisition on behalf of Anish Kapoor of the World鈥檚 Pinkest Pink
Dear Sirs,
I am aware that you represent Mr. Anish Kapoor, and I write today not to dob him in so that you can tell him off but rather to try and resolve this matter. Unlike Kapoor I am not one to聽鈥榩oint the finger鈥 however on this occasion it has become important to do so.聽
I hold your gallery in the highest esteem, I am a fan of several of your artists, but on this occasion you have been extremely naughty. You have been part of a conspiracy to obtain my PINK and provide Mr. Kapoor with it.
We have now finished fully researching this situation and it has come to your attention that you have been part of a conspiracy to obtain my PINK and provide Mr. Kapoor with it enabling him to exploit the substance against my wishes. Further, this juvenile behavior made much of the wider artistic community sad thanks to his extremely petty and childish post on Instagram.聽
The terms of service on my site CultureHustle.com are incredibly clear:Quote: By adding this product to your cart you agree that you are not Anish Kapoor, you are in no way affiliated with Anish Kapoor, you are not purchasing this item on behalf of Anish Kapoor or an associate of Anish Kapoor. To the best of your knowledge, information and belief this product will not make its way into that hands of Anish Kapoor.聽
In direct violation to the above, on 10th of December 2016 a person by the name of Mr [Blanked out] placed an order via the culturehustle.com website, for one jar of PINK at 5:36 am. This order was placed on behalf of your gallery and was delivered to the Lisson Gallery in London at 11:38 am on the 13th of December. Shortly after which your gallery provided Mr. Kapoor with the substance and on the 23rd of December 2016 Mr. Kapoor posted a photograph on Instagram showing he was indeed in possession of the substance, he also included the caption聽鈥楿p Yours鈥. The comments on this post clearly demonstrate the negative impact such a gesture has had upon a wide community. He needs to say sorry for hurting everyone鈥檚 feelings.
I remind you, hoarding colours and stealing other people鈥檚 colours without asking nicely isn鈥檛 big -rd it鈥檚 simply bad.聽
I said I think it would be best to resolve this matter amicably without this silly business escalating any further. However, if we are unable to resolve this in a timely and grown up way I am fully prepared to take further action which will no doubt become stressful and expensive.聽
Therefore I would appreciate it if:1. Your gallery would say sorry for giving my pink to Mr. Kapoor.聽2. Mr. Kapoor would give me my pink back. I don鈥檛 want him to have it.聽3. He will write 100 times,聽鈥業 will be nice, I will share my colours鈥 and he will post the same to his Instagram.
Failing the above, an agreeable settlement would also be:1. The reimbursement of $3.99 (the cost of PINK minus shipping)2. And Mr. Kapoor to void his exclusive agreement to the use of Vanta Black in art.
If you were to settle as above I will be more than happy to share all my colours with him, so he doesn鈥檛 feel left out and can join in with the rest of us.
I look forward to resolving this matter.聽
Yours,
Stuart Semple

Thank you for captioning this! I鈥檇 seen it before but never been able to read it.

Alright this is hilarious because
Since they broke contract, he can sue them
To avoid getting sued, they need to humilate themselves publicly AND convince Kapoor to do likewise
If they don鈥檛 want to humiliate themselves and avoid getting sued, they need to convince Kapoor to give up his color copyright

Stuart Semple everybody!

I鈥 oh my gods this was always the plan. An irresistible Trojan horse. Of course Kapoor would get his hands on it, that was only a matter of time, and now Semple鈥檚 backed them into a corner. Is this what watching chess feels like?
